In-person participation is crucial throughout the year, with several team and company-wide offsite events aimed at fostering collaboration and alignment. The Identity team manages all aspects of a user’s identity on Coinbase, including login, signup, OAuth, account security, and multi-factor authentication. The Horizontal Frontend team within this organization plays a crucial role in building and maintaining the user interfaces for these essential interactions. You will collaborate closely with backend teams to create seamless, scalable, and reliable user experiences. This role involves migrating main frontend views to React Native, allowing us to maintain a unified codebase across platforms. We are also focusing on initiatives like multi-user and multi-organization support to ensure Coinbase products can evolve alongside the needs of businesses. What You Will Be Doing:
Enhancing frontend experiences for login, signup, OAuth, account security, as well as multi-user and multi-organization support. Contributing to the migration of main frontend views to React Native for a unified codebase. Designing and implementing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance user interfaces using modern technologies like React and TypeScript. Collaborating with backend engineers, designers, product managers, and leadership to transform product visions into actionable roadmaps. Ensuring low latency and high reliability in frontend surfaces, delivering a premium user experience. Writing high-quality, well-tested code that meets the needs of Coinbase’s expanding user base. What We Look For in You:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in frontend software engineering. Proven experience in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production-grade frontend systems. Expertise in modern frameworks like React and TypeScript. A commitment to writing high-quality, well-tested code focused on user needs. A passion for developing an open financial system that connects the world. Nice to Haves:
Experience with React Native or transitioning web views to mobile. Previously navigated a rapid growth phase from startup to mid-size. Familiarity with domains related to authentication, identity, or security. Experience optimizing frontend performance for fast and reliable systems. A background in cryptocurrencies and understanding of blockchain technology, including Ethereum, ENS, and dApps. Job #: GPFE05US Pay Transparency Notice: Compensation for this role ranges from $180,625 to $212,000 annually, depending on location and includes eligibility for bonuses, equity, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
