GIS COTS Systems Administrator Location :
Remote (with Onsite Reporting at Start and End of Engagement in Harrisburg) Duration: 6+ Months Type: Contract
Notes: Position Type : Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled
GIS COTS Specialist / GIS Administrator
to provide direct support for the Client GIS systems. This role will involve architecting, configuring, deploying, and maintaining commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) GIS solutions such as ESRI Survey123, ESRI Field Maps, ESRI Collector, and ESRI Operations Dashboard. The ideal candidate will also assist with high-level system administration, data management, troubleshooting, and the development of training materials.
Key Responsibilities : GIS System Support : Provide direct support for the Client GIS systems and provide guidance for architectural decisions. COTS GIS Solutions : Develop, configure, deploy, and maintain ESRI-based COTS GIS solutions, including ESRI Survey123, ESRI Collector, Field Maps, and Operations Dashboard. System Administration : Act as a high-level administrator for GIS systems, assisting with hardware and software installations, relocations, and routine maintenance. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution : Lead efforts to troubleshoot GIS and CADD system issues with minimal supervision. Resolve hardware and software problems, working with appropriate service vendors for necessary repairs. Documentation & Standards : Assist in the development of system documentation, standards, and direction for GIS systems, as well as managing version upgrades and ensuring timely updates for GIS software. Training & Support : Provide training to staff on GIS tools and functionality, creating relevant training materials to facilitate knowledge transfer. Inventory Management : Maintain up-to-date inventory of all hardware and software, ensuring proper tracking of upgrades, fixes, and system configurations. Data Management : Ensure data integrity and backups. Monitor system performance and manage data archives, ensuring that data is retrievable when required. Client Communication : Maintain consistent communication with managers and project sponsors regarding the status of projects and issues. Required Skills & Qualifications :
Experience : 2+ years of hands-on experience designing, configuring, and administering ESRI COTS products, including ESRI Survey123, Field Maps, and Operations Dashboard. 2+ years of experience managing an ESRI ArcGIS Online organization.
Technical Skills : Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills with minimal supervision. Proficiency in GIS hardware/software installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Other : Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to perform under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
