As a Lead Data Scientist, You Will Utilize machine learning, econometrics, and operations research to optimize HVACR system performance and reduce energy consumption.
Identify and implement data analytics and automation opportunities to improve processes within our enterprise.
Create customer-focused solutions addressing global resource and efficiency challenges.
Engage with a variety of problem types including optimization, forecasting, statistical analysis, control theory, and large language models.
Collaborate with internal teams to leverage cloud and edge-computing capabilities for production efficiency and proprietary algorithms.
Gain an in-depth understanding of the HVACR and cold chain industries to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Adapt advanced techniques from academic research into scalable, practical solutions for real-world engineering challenges.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
3+ years of relevant experience.
Proficient in data wrangling and modeling using Python or similar programming languages.
Experienced in verifying the integrity of raw data through automation and exploratory data analysis (EDA) techniques.
Strong understanding of robust statistics, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
Able to work collaboratively with a global team in a virtual environment.
Skilled in translating ambiguous business challenges into actionable analytics and data science projects.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills An interdisciplinary background that integrates data science with traditional engineering disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
Advanced degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
Understanding of HVAC and refrigeration-related thermodynamics, system operations, and control logic.
Experience with signal processing techniques for feature engineering.
Knowledge of optimal control theory and reinforcement learning applications.
Demonstrated experience as a technical lead on projects or research initiatives.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Agile methodologies.
Ability and enthusiasm for simplifying complex concepts for team members with varying levels of analytics knowledge.
