Join Our Innovative Smart Agents Team! Are you passionate about transforming the future of autonomous vehicles? In the Smart Agents group, we are leading the way in developing advanced machine learning (ML) models and systems to simulate road users. Our goal is to create realistic scenarios that enhance the training and testing of autonomous vehicle (AV) driving policies. Imagine simulation as an immersive video game where our autonomous vehicles learn to navigate real-world challenges. Our team meticulously shapes the behaviors of diverse road users—such as cars, cyclists, and pedestrians—to facilitate authentic interactions as our vehicles operate. Leverage our cutting-edge technology stack, including Generative AI models and Reinforcement Learning (RL) policies. Collaborate with diverse teams across Simulation, Behaviors, Perception, and Safety Engineering to elevate autonomous vehicle technology to new heights. Your Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine ML and RL models with a focus on optimizing training loops. Create and enhance ML infrastructure, metrics, and data pipelines to enable rapid experimentation and robust production deployments. Apply your software engineering expertise to strengthen the ML team’s capabilities. Drive accelerated timelines for projects focused on Autopilot, Lane Keep, and AV technologies. Utilize your experience in simulation and robotics, especially from an AV or robotics background. Your Skills and Qualifications: 4+ years of experience in robotics or latency-sensitive services. Solid foundation in machine learning algorithms and models. Proven ability to build effective ML and system pipelines. Strong programming skills in modern C++ or Python. Additional Qualifications Strongly Preferred: Experience with CPU/GPU software profiling, process scheduling, and prioritization. A genuine passion for self-driving technology and its potential impacts. Expertise in designing scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant architectures. Proven ability to approach complex systems with both depth and broad understanding. Flexibility to switch between coding, design, strategy, and mentorship as necessary. History of successfully deploying perception, prediction, and AV models in real-world applications. Experience with RL and sequence prediction models. Compensation:
The salary range for this role is between $134,000 to $235,900. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and individual performance. Bonus potential available based on company and individual achievements. Remote Work:
This position allows for remote work. However, candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford, or Mountain View should be prepared to work onsite at least three times a week. About Us:
At GM, we are committed to achieving a world with Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, and Zero Congestion. We strive to be leaders in creating a safer, more equitable future through technology and a workplace culture that values inclusion and belonging. Join us to help make a meaningful impact!
