We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Network Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for implementing and maintaining essential firewall rules, coordinating incident response efforts, and ensuring compliance with security policies. A key part of your work will involve creating and managing secure connections for our external partners using Cisco's VPN capabilities. Your expertise with a wide range of networking protocols—such as TCP/IP, switching protocols, BGP/OSPF—will be vital, along with strong troubleshooting skills for layer 2 and 3 issues. You will assess security policy changes, process firewall change requests, and update URL/DNS block lists. Key responsibilities include: Deep understanding of network architecture, firewall design, and development of access control policies.
Experience in log analysis, traffic inspection, and firewall performance tuning.
Ability to create clear documentation for configuration baselines, rule justifications, and system changes.
Development of scripts or use of automation tools to streamline firewall management and log analysis.
Perform configuration updates for various network security tools as needed.
Support Major Technical Incident Management Calls and Change Controls with strong technical expertise and communication skills.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure 24/7 network availability.
Deliver high-quality Follow the Sun support while being available for on-call shifts.
Implement best practices for Network & Security Operations services, maintaining security and reliability.
Ensure effective monitoring and observability of system performance, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Work with LAN/WAN and security engineering teams to optimize infrastructure.
Utilize network management tools to identify and respond to security connectivity issues.
Manage security policies, access controls, and firewall rules effectively.
Assist in security compliance audits to verify configurations and system hardening.
Investigate connectivity incidents related to security devices and provide recommendations for improvements.
Support updating software releases and security updates as necessary.
Act as an escalation point for security incidents and service requests.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a technology-related field.
In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco Umbrella, IPS, and ZTNA.
Advanced understanding of F5 Load Balancers and automation features.
Experience with Cisco firewalls, Viavi Observer, and Wireshark for packet analysis.
Familiarity with end-user security strategies, including host-based firewalls and NAC.
Experience leading enhancement projects for proxies like Cisco WSA and cloud proxy migrations.
Ability to engineer and deploy updates using JavaScript for PAC files.
Strong troubleshooting experience in network security environments.
Hands-on experience with networking services and operations.
Excellent collaboration skills with a capacity to influence team members effectively.
A minimum of 3 years experience engineering Cisco IOS-based firewalls/VPNs.
At least 6 years in network security engineering roles within enterprise environments and a total of 10 years in enterprise IT.
Preferred Qualifications Strong communication skills to deliver precise issue summaries and updates.
High tolerance for ambiguity and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Relevant security certifications such as PCNSE, Prisma SDWAN, or similar.
Networking certifications like CCNP or CCIE.
Advocacy for a DevOps mindset fostering collaboration and cross-domain knowledge.
Technical experience in routing, switching, and load balancing.
Ability to engage with external vendors for technology evaluations.
Experience with Agile methodologies and tools like Rally.
Familiarity with network automation scripts and monitoring tools.
