Overview GovCIO is on the lookout for an experienced Linux System Administrator with an active Secret clearance to be a valuable member of our Operations team. This position is fully remote within the United States, allowing you the flexibility to work from anywhere. Responsibilities As a Lead Linux Systems Administrator, you will collaborate with a team to address vulnerabilities on Linux-based systems, implement STIGs, manage POAMs, and respond effectively to Zero-Day vulnerabilities. Key responsibilities include: Administering and maintaining RedHat Linux servers, with additional experience in Ubuntu and CentOS being a plus.
Managing a RedHat Satellite server to ensure optimal performance.
Executing system administration tasks, including package management and module deployment.
Implementing robust logging solutions for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
Conducting vulnerability remediation across our systems.
Developing scripts or software to automate production systems, using languages such as Bash, Perl, Ruby, or Python.
Exhibiting advanced Linux system administration and security skills.
Troubleshooting complex system issues with advanced capabilities.
Communicating effectively in both written and verbal formats.
Demonstrating a keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
Working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Qualifications A Bachelor's degree coupled with over 8 years of experience in Linux System Security, applying updates, and remediating vulnerabilities, or equivalent experience. An active Secret Clearance is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain DEA suitability. Company Overview At GovCIO, we are a team of innovators changing government IT. Posted Salary Range The salary range for this position is USD $115,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr., with the final offer dependent on various individualized factors.
