Your primary focus will be safely and efficiently operating forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack materials. This role is vital to our overall logistics operations, ensuring the smooth flow of inventory from receiving to dispatch. You will also be involved in general warehouse duties, including order picking, packing, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. A strong commitment to safety is essential, and you must be proficient in following all company safety regulations and utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a keen eye for detail, and the physical ability to perform tasks requiring frequent Lifting. Responsibilities:
- Operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up) safely and efficiently to move materials.
- Load and unload trucks, rail cars, and other conveyances.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Stack and stage products according to warehouse layout and safety standards.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all operations.
- Follow all Lifting guidelines and best practices.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform manual Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with different types of forklifts and their operation.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including the importance of PPE.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in a logistics environment is highly desirable.
