We are seeking a diligent and motivated Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring timely delivery to production or shipping areas. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading trucks, operating material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and accurately stocking and retrieving inventory. A strong commitment to safety protocols and proper handling techniques is paramount. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work environment, contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations. Attention to detail is crucial for inventory accuracy. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, following instructions from supervisors and collaborating with colleagues. You will be provided with necessary PPE and training on equipment operation and safe work practices. Regular physical activity is involved, including significant lifting .
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Accurately stock and retrieve inventory based on order or production needs.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to all housekeeping standards.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements for assigned tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating material handling equipment is a plus.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics .
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Familiarity with PPE and its proper use.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
