We are actively recruiting a skilled Forklift Operator for our facility in Washington, D.C. This position is crucial for the efficient movement of heavy materials within our logistics hub. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and effectively operating various types of forklifts to transport goods, manage inventory, and assist in loading and unloading operations. Your expertise will ensure that our warehouse operations run smoothly and that materials are handled with the utmost care. A strong commitment to Safety, adherence to company policies, and proper use of PPE are paramount. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and retrieve materials.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers with efficiency and precision.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Assist with shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Ensure correct use of PPE, including safety vests and hard hats where applicable.
- Participate in inventory counts and record keeping.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, free from obstructions.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to achieve operational goals in our logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse Safety practices and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic in a logistics setting.
- Must be willing to wear required PPE.
