We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk for our bustling warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. This critical role ensures that all incoming inventory is accurately accounted for, inspected, and processed efficiently, forming the foundation of our logistics operations. You will be responsible for managing the receiving dock, verifying shipments against orders, identifying any discrepancies or damages, and inputting data into our inventory system. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, a meticulous approach to documentation, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work area. You will interact with delivery personnel and internal teams, so excellent communication skills are a must. This position requires the ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including Lifting . We value accuracy, efficiency, and a dedication to upholding high standards in our supply chain. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from carriers.
- Accurately compare received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all products for damage, defects, or shortages, and report findings.
- Process received goods into the inventory management system promptly.
- Tag and label items as necessary for tracking and storage.
- Maintain an organized and clean receiving area, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal staff regarding receiving activities.
- Assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Previous experience in a receiving role or warehouse environment is highly valued.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform Lifting of items up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse procedures and basic Logistics principles.
- Must comply with all company Safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE .
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
