We are seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk for our facility in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient intake of all incoming goods. Your duties will include verifying shipments against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and properly logging received items into our inventory system. This position is critical to our supply chain and logistics operations, ensuring that we have accurate stock counts. A strong emphasis on safety, including the correct use of PPE, is essential. You will contribute to maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Verify the accuracy of received goods against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for damage or discrepancies.
- Document all received items accurately into the inventory management system.
- Tag and stage items for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with other warehouse departments to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the supervisor promptly.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a warehouse environment is preferred. Must be able to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs) and stand for extended periods. Excellent organizational and data entry skills are required. Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory systems is beneficial. A strong commitment to workplace safety and the proper use of PPE is essential. Must be at least 18 years of age.
