The Sales Development Program (EDGE) is for college graduates and early career professionals. The program is designed to help you build the skills that you need to be successful in your role. This program offers a variety of exciting career paths that will provide an opportunity to flourish in an inclusive environment as you learn the ins and outs of the Banking industry and build leadership and technical skills. Joining the OceanFirst Bank team will allow you to work in a fun, diverse environment where you'll gain exposure to the multitude of businesses within the company. In your first 18 months, you'll get the benefits of: Hands on experience in several departments throughout the organizations including frontline operational functions in our Customer Care Center and Branches. Professional development courses including Communication, Leadership, Diversity and Inclusion, Teamwork, Networking, and additional Self-paced trainings offered in OFB University. Mentorship and support throughout duration of program and beyond. Peer collaboration opportunities to create bonds and lifelong relationships. This role is based at our Red Bank, NJ headquarters office, and the program is set to begin in June 2025. About Your Role
The Commercial Lending Sales Development rotational program provides exposure across the sales organization and contributes to developing versatile leaders through hands-on experience in key operational and revenue functions. This program provides a strong entry point into the commercial banking industry and exposure to financial services sales skills and insights into strategies and skills to drive value added revenue. The role is an opportunity to learn about all aspects of the customer sales life cycle before identifying an area in which you may be interested in developing your career. Upon successful completion of the Sales Development Program, participants will be placed in a permanent full-time role within the sales organization. Commercial lending entails lending to companies (C&I -- Commercial and Industrial lending and/or Commercial Real Estate Lending (CRE)). What You Will Do
1. Work collaboratively with line of business and other EDGE colleagues. 2. Participate in professional development activities to develop and maintain strong technical, business analysis, and revenue generation skills. 3. Assist in analyzing commercial loan opportunities, including financial analysis, researching companies and industries and drafting opportunity memos to management to outline strengths, weaknesses and mitigants relating to specific opportunities. 4. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management. 5. Develop a working knowledge of key areas in sales including insights and analytics, prospecting, customer development, and sales planning. 6. Form a strong network of supporters, along with exposure and networking opportunities with senior management. 7. Successfully complete challenging and varied work assignments and projects. 8. Gain practical experience in core operations, including service delivery, quality control, and team management. 9. Develop skills in client relationship management, commercial lending, contract fulfillment, credit underwriting and customer satisfaction. 10. Build a strong development and career plan with guidance and support. What We Expect Of You
