About the Role

As an Engineering Manager, you will be the key leader responsible for driving the technical execution and quality standards necessary for successful, on-time delivery. You will partner closely with Product Management to align the technical roadmap with business priorities. You will oversee project execution, set technical direction, and uphold rigorous quality and operational standards. Equally important, you will be responsible for attracting, nurturing, coaching, and retaining world-class engineering talent. You will define engineering standards and help build the strategic vision for our organization in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

This role has a dual mandate covering Technical Delivery and Team Leadership:

Technical Delivery & Accountability

  • Drive technical execution of the roadmap, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to manage the technical roadmap, helping to balance feature development, technical debt, and operational stability.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for client and internal stakeholders, communicating progress, managing expectations, and mitigating technical risks to ensure project success.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the team's deliverables and contribute to defining engineering quality standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural context to unblock the team and ensure scalable solutions.

Team Leadership & Growth

  • Attract, nurture, coach, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Develop career progression plans and provide regular, real-time feedback.
  • Ensure continuous learning and development through valuable training opportunities.
  • Help shape and execute the vision for the engineering organization.
About You

The Essentials

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Experience with Web and Native (iOS) applications.

Core Skills

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Good knowledge of design and architectural patterns and development best practices.
  • Proven success driving complex, cross-functional engineering projects from concept to production.
  • Strong technical judgment and the ability to challenge, guide, and mentor engineers on design and implementation.
  • Experience in defining and implementing quality standards in engineering practices.
  • Previous experience collaborating on highly distributed teams across multiple countries and time zones.

This role is subject to our Return to Office (RTO) policy. If you reside within a commutable distance of one of our office locations, you will be expected to work from the office a set number of days per week. Salary Range $113,416.73—$139,843.64 CAD
