Key Responsibilities
Design and develop mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks, including SolidWorks Simulation for FEA analysis.
Support prototyping activities, including tool usage, fit checks, and design iteration.
Apply strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics in system and component design.
Ensure compliance with MIL-STD‑-8‑10, FMVSS, requirements during design and testing.
Develop and review welded structures, sheet metal components, and parts requiring forming or stamping processes.
Collaborate within a PLM system to manage design data, revisions, and documentation.
Work closely with manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to ensure successful product realization.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
5+ years of experience designing mechanical assemblies.
P.Eng. license an asset but not a required
Proficiency in SolidWorks, including FEA tools.
Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Hands-on experience with prototyping and mechanical tools.
Familiarity with MIL-STD‑-‑810, FMVSS, and vibration testing standards.
Experience with weld design, sheet metal, forming, and stamping processes.
Prior experience working within a PLM environment.
Ability to obtain controlled goods security clearance
