The Relief Event Host is responsible for supporting the Venue Rentals program, primarily by providing relief as on-site contact for venue rental clients at YWCA Toronto's 87 Elm Street. (Venues include the auditorium, reception hall, meeting and board rooms and the women's community meeting room.)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as the on-site contact for rental events as needed
- Ensures rooms are clean and set-up in proper configuration and turns on lights and opens doors in advance of guests' arrival
- Provides AV/IT set up and equipment support for key on-site contacts and guests, monitor its usage, ensure it is returned in good condition and report any damages or losses to Venue Rentals Coordinator (VRC)
- Presents a positive and professional image of the organization to all interactions
- Directs catering and other rental deliveries to the appropriate venues
- Handles guest complaints and issues with tact and diplomacy, de-escalating potential
- for conflict
- At the end of the event, ensures the initial room set up is maintained, turns off lights and closes and/or locks doors, where required
- Completes activity report at the end of each event and leaves for Venue Rentals Coordinator
- Community-college level education, such as technical or commercial training in relevant fields directly related to the job (Cases for Equivalency will be considered);
- 1-3 years directly related work experience
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
- Occasional lifting and moving of small furniture may be required
- Demonstrate respect, consideration and acceptance of the opinions of others while expressing their own expertise and effectively utilizing relevant resources and specialists
