This is a full-time 12-month internship starting in May 2026.The Client Strategy & Business Planning function at AIMCo is designed to ensure consistent strategic alignment with clients' objectives. Employing a client centric lens to initiatives within the organization, the team facilitates the planning and execution of client strategy, measures client feedback, and engages teams across AIMCo to improve efficiency in client offerings and enhance the overall client experience.
As an Intern on the Client Strategy & Business Planning team, you will establish a deep understanding of our clients' investment and service needs while collaborating with teams across AIMCo. You will help evolve a client-focused organization and continuously improve exceptional service for AIMCo clients by monitoring progress on client initiatives and developing advanced analytics and data visualization based on client feedback. Moreover, you will refine your analytical abilities by creating and interpreting Power BI visualizations to support data-driven decision-making. By leveraging your relationship building skills, you will work closely with other internal departments and play a key role in furthering the understanding of clients and their tailored needs within the organization.Responsibilities Include:
Champion the Client Service Portal by overseeing the daily operations, including onboarding and offboarding client accounts, uploading client reports and communications in a timely manner, and conducting user audits, all to ensure a seamless and positive user experience.
Modernize client reporting by assisting in the transformation of reports across Performance, Risk, and Finance, delivering concise, client-focused outputs that highlight the most relevant and impactful insights.
Develop compelling, high impact presentations that convey key messages and insights to clients and senior leadership, supporting informed strategic decision-making.
Transform data into actionable insights by collecting, analyzing, and preparing data for meaningful visualisations and design dynamic PowerBI dashboards that provide stakeholders with clear, interactive, and timely access to critical information to guide and influence key decisions.
Ensure data excellence by validating calculations, verifying presentation materials, and upholding the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in all deliverables.
Execute on innovative ideas to improve the client interactions and service through advanced projects and process efficiencies that have direct impact for AIMCo and our clients
Foster collaboration and responsiveness by addressing inquiries from internal teams in a timely manner, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing across departments.
Recent graduate or currently in pursuit of a Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar quantitative program (i.e., Engineering, Computing Science).
Demonstrates a clear ability to analyze, interpret, and articulate financial data and clearly communicate findings.
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in validating data to ensure accuracy and consistency of client reporting.
Proficiency level (Advanced) with Microsoft Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
Strong Power BI skills to build semantic data models and create insightful visualizations.
Interest or knowledge in one or more programming languages – Python, R, SQL, VBA (course work is acceptable).
Creative mindset, capable of thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment, and with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Knowledge of investments and asset management is an asset.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo's core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity, and collaboration, and inspires the same in others.
End of term success will be determined by the undertaking and completion of specified daily tasks while collaborating alongside the analysts of the team, sharing your ideas, contributing to several ongoing projects, and assisting the department with implementing and improving process efficiencies.
