Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will play a vital role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive housing environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Tenant Support Worker provides emotional support, crisis intervention, and guidance to help tenants build essential life and tenancy skills. This includes facilitating access to community resources, promoting wellness and personal development, mediating conflicts, and encouraging goal-setting. The role also involves coordinating with external agencies, documenting tenant interactions, and participating in case management and planning. Through proactive relationship-building, collaboration, and advocacy, the TSW helps tenants maintain successful tenancies and improve their overall quality of life.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a certificate or diploma in Community Social Services, Mental Health, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years' experience supporting individuals or families facing multiple barriers to housing. The role requires strong knowledge of social issues such as homelessness, mental health, and addictions, along with an understanding of housing systems and harm reduction approaches. 

Essential skills include crisis intervention, conflict resolution, community engagement, and cultural sensitivity. A valid First Aid Certificate, unrestricted Class 5 Driver's license, solid grasp of the Residential Tenancy Act, excellent communication, time management, and computer proficiency are also required, along with the ability to build trusting, professional relationships with a diverse tenant population.

This is a temporary full-time, three-month position, with the possibility of extension based on operational needs.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
