Job Description: The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible to the Manager. As an interdisciplinary team member the Speech Language Pathologist is required to assess, diagnose and treat clients with communication and/or swallowing disorders. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Experience
- Two (2) years experience in Acute Care
- Experience to assess and treat head/neck cancer related disorders preferred
- Experience with provision and monitoring of voice prosthesis is preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
Education
- Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
Other Education and Training
- Current CPR certification
Knowledge and Abilities
- Ability to meet multiple demands, manage complex clinical issues and workload.
- Requires coping skills to work w/clients dealing with stress/psychosocial issues
- Skilled in assess./therapeutic interventions for adult speech/lang. disorders
- Ability to mentor, train, supervise SLPs and support personnel
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Knowledge & experience of diagnostic instruments: MBS and FEES (once trained)
- Can design, conduct, evaluate educational training to various targeted audiences

- This is a multi-site position - home location is PH with service to RGH
