About the Role

Kensington is expanding our development team to support a wide variety of projects and initiatives centered around the  website, its landing pages, its microsites, and its related properties. We're looking for an Intermediate Frontend Developer who is comfortable building UIs and experiences for large volumes of traffic, and is committed to driving conversion through high-value features or enhancements for our stakeholders. 

You'll help drive the evolution of our modern web application architecture as we migrate away from our legacy tech stack. You'll collaborate closely with stakeholders, business partners, designers, and other developers to rapidly and continually deliver rich, high-value online travel content. You'll be expected to play a hands-on role in architecting content and components, defining frontend standards and practices, and mentoring your fellow developers. 

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, maintain, and scale our modern frontend application , React) and its related integrations (Contentful). 
  • Maintain our legacy frontend application (Angular) during migration to the modern tech stack. 
  • Foster a strong UX and design systems perspective while collaborating with design partners to translate high-fidelity Figma prototypes into performant, accessible, and responsive experiences. 
  • Apply a programmer's mindset to content design, information architecture, and CMS configuration to allow partners to quickly and effectively make site updates with minimal overhead. 
  • Work closely with senior technical staff and business stakeholders to plan, estimate, build, and test high-impact features or platform improvements. 
  • Support ongoing operational needs by providing internal customers with training, documentation, technical support, and maintenance. 
  • Define and enforce frontend best practices, coding standards, and architectural patterns. 
  • Teach fellow developers what you learn as you work and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and collaboration. 
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools that enhance developer productivity, site performance, or design collaboration. 
  • What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of professional experience developing web applications in high-traffic production environments. 
  • Proven experience in component-based development using React and  
  • Solid understanding of front-end architecture, state management, routing, and performance optimization in large-scale web applications. 
  • Proven experience building user interfaces with modern CSS in responsive, mobile-first layouts. 
  • Familiarity with Figma for design review, handoff, and prototyping. 
  • Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and modern CI/CD pipelines (Azure). 
  • Familiarity with technical requirements unique to the web as a platform, including SEO, accessibility, Core Web Vitals, application security, and so on. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills—able to bridge the gap with partners outside the team and coordinate seamlessly with your direct teammates. 
  • Nice to have

  • Proven experience integrating with Contentful (or similar headless CMS platforms) and designing content models/schemas is an asset. 
  • Experience integrating third-party code libraries and SDKs (e.g., tracking, analytics, retargeting, tooling) is an asset. 
  • Experience with Angular (9+) is an asset. 
  • Experience with Tailwind (CSS) is an asset.
