FabreneInc. is a leader in the manufacturing of woven Polyolefin materials for a wide variety of building, protective, and packaging products. The North Bay, Ontario plant operates 24/7 and involves a variety of extrusion, plastic and textile processing equipment.

- Permanent Full-Time
- Location : North Bay, ON - Canada
- Salary : $70,000 to $80,000/year

Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, develop and recommend new and improved products and processes.
- Analyse, plan and recommend workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- Confer with planning, marketing/technical service and technical staff concerning product parameters to determine machine set-ups and process settings for efficient production methods and quality products.
- Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
- Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
- Apply statistical methods to present processes for optimum performance and to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
- Prepare and complete capital projects in support of manufacturing.
- Audit, troubleshoot and take corrective action.
- Create, update and maintain data logging system (SADA WinCC), including communication to equipment, displays, alarming and trending.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel (overnight and internationally) up to 5% of the time.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Applied Science with 3 - 5 years related experience, OR
- 5 - 10 years related experience and/or training, OR
- Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with polymers, polymer extrusion, film processing, and processes control considered an asset.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of WinCC SCADA programming, visual basic script and C program languages is required.
- Familiar with OPC communication protocol (Kepware server).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis. Fourier transforms for analyzing frequency data.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
