SummaryThe Financial Analyst - Reporting is responsible for preparing sub ledgers for periodic financial statements with analysis forming part of schedules and notes. Coordinating with IT, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales and Operations, this role plays an active role in system improvements and controls by participating in various projects. The successful candidate will aid in preparation of management reports, analysis, forecasting, preparation for audits, and ensuring statutory compliances.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze the assigned portion of financial statements periodically and performing variance analysis comparing last period and last year results
  • Assist in preparing management reports with detailed analytical insights as to reasons for variances
  • Assisting with all audit enquiries for our yearly financial audit with proper reasons and backups
  • Participate in system improvements and controls in SAP by being an active player and coordinating with other teams
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal regulatory and company policies and procedures
  • Assisting in forecasting and cashflow projection for management on an ongoing basis
  • Create financial models by performing ad-hoc financial analysis to provide financial impact and recommendations to management on a timely basis
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, provincial, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements
  • Manage intercompany transactions by ensuring proper controls are in place and co-ordination
  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded properly and prepare periodic accruals
  • Prepared schedules and reconciliations for major accounts such as treasury

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Minimum 2 years of accounting and finance experience
  • Strong FICO experience in SAP preferrable
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel
  • Manufacturing and food industry experience is preferred
  • Strong communication, presentation and multi-tasking skills required
  • Working towards CPA s an asset
