Engineering Technologist

The Opportunity:
 This position provides a great opportunity to be a part of our highly motivated and driven engineering team, that is developing and manufacturing a variety of artificial lift products, including: endless rod and progressing cavity pumps. In this role you will provide hands-on technical and laboratory support to design engineers and specialists, contribute to process improvement, product development, safety initiatives, R&D and validation testing, CAD drawings, and part number creation including bills of materials and routing calculations. 

Responsibilities:
 In alignment with the Lifting Solutions culture, mission, vision and values, you will be responsible to:

• Work within a team-driven environment supporting engineering projects, R&D testing, and manufacturing trials
• Develop a strong working understanding of R&D testing equipment, laboratory processes, and quality requirements
• Execute hands-on testing activities, including assembly and disassembly of PC pumps, preparation of test samples, and operation of test equipment
• Conduct routine and custom testing in the engineering test facility, Metals Lab, and Elastomer Lab by following written procedures or direction from lead engineers
• Prepare materials and product samples for wear testing, inspection, and failure analysis
• Collect, record, organize, and maintain accurate test data using spreadsheets and standard documentation tools
• Assist engineers with test planning, test execution, and interpretation of results by providing complete and reliable data sets
• Support inspections and failure analysis activities by preparing samples, organizing inspection areas, capturing photographs, and disposing of samples as required
• Coordinate and collect data from trials conducted on the manufacturing floor and support basic data analysis activities
• Assist in the development and maintenance of operating procedures, work instructions, and test methods
• Support new product development activities, including part numbers, classifications, BOMs, routings, and related technical documentation in the ERP system
• Create, organize, and maintain 2D drawings and technical documentation for production and testing use
• Follow corporate ECR/ECN processes for design or process changes as required
• Effectively interact and coordinate work with engineers, technologists, technicians, and production operators
• Carry out housekeeping activities in lab and test areas and actively participate in 5S initiatives
• Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness through participation in safety meetings, JSA reviews, hazard assessments, and safety drills
• Comply with all industry, regulatory, and company standards, regulations, and policies

Your Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field
• Mechanically inclined and hands-on with strong practical aptitude
• Experience working in a lab, testing, manufacturing, or engineering support environment is preferred
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience with ProE/Creo and/or proficiency in 2D drawings and 3D layouts
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible with work hours as required to meet project and testing deadlines
• A physical assessment & fit for duty testing is required as this is a safety-sensitive position
