THE ROLE
You will have the opportunity to be part of Live Nation Canada's newest live music venue in Ottawa. The Technical Director is responsible for managing all technical and production operations within the venue. While acting as a liaison between touring production, venue management and promoters, you will oversee key components such as lighting, audio, video, rigging and stage production ensuring safe and high-quality live events.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
- Advance technical details for shows/events with touring production, promoters and artists
- Responsible for scheduling and managing technical labour
- Oversee load-in, soundcheck, performance and load-out for all events
- Maintenance of audio, lighting, and video systems advising on repairs/upgrades when needed
- Troubleshoot technical issues on site quickly and effectively
- Advise on design and purchase of site lighting systems, audio (including PA systems and monitors), video (projection, cameras), and staging/rigging requirements
- Source, purchase and rent technical equipment within approved budget
- Responsible for safe and consistent operation of all equipment
- Assist and support production department personnel with job functions as needed
- Assist in creating budgetary requirements and tracking the financial aspects of department
- Conduct pre-show safety checks
- Create and maintain inventory and maintenance log
- Facilitate proper interdepartmental communication and organization
- Manage relationships with vendors and rental companies as appropriate
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
- Minimum 5 years experience in an entertainment venue including advancing shows
- Minimum 5 years Tour and Stage Production experience or equivalent
- Experience in stage lighting, pro audio systems and video systems
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to make clear concise decisions; sometimes with limited information
- Computer literate in Windows applications
- Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
- Required to work nights, weekends and holidays when applicable

The expected compensation for this position in Ontario is: $75,000-90,000
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Sits for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
