About this Opportunity
This position is based in our Calgary Office, reporting to the Manager of Surface Land. The Senior Surface Land Administrator will be responsible for the completion of various tasks pertaining to the life cycle of land acquisition within Alberta and British Columbia.
Job functions will involve:
- Project kick offs and processing of acquisition packages
- Reviewing and completing the freehold/crown monthly rentals
- Reclamation and abandonment of surface assets
- Analyze surface land agreements, titles, and documents
- Ensures proper payment to landowners and occupants
- Coordination of special projects (i.e. renewals/replacements)
- Surface Land liaison between stakeholders, including brokers, landowners, surveyors, construction, governmental representatives, drilling, engineering and HSE, directing or resolving issues and obtaining or providing information as required
- Assembly of Surface Land records including invoice coding
- Problem solving as necessary; actively reporting progress and problems to Manager, Surface Land
- Maintaining internal reports and status reports for area of responsibility
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist Surface Land with time sensitive projects; problem solving as necessary; completion of daily tasks and occasional projects as required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A Land Administration certificate from an accredited institution
- Minimum 7+ years of related industry experience
- Working knowledge of land systems (e.g. Pandell, CS Explorer, AbaData, SPIN, ETS, and Kermit)
- Solid understanding and strong knowledge of land documents, applicable legislation, and regulations in accordance with AER, AEP and OGC guidelines
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong ability to think critically and problem solve
- The successful candidate possesses flexibility, adaptability, problem solving and an ability to manage large volumes of work within a tight deadline.
- Ability to work independently while functioning effectively in a team environment is essential
- Exceptional attention to detail
