What is the opportunity?
The Manager, Operations Process Owner – DCP (Digital cheque processing) role with focus on Project Management, Operational Excellence, and Payment Processing. This individual will lead and deliver project oversite, status, timelines Issue and Risk for the (PTO) Payments and Trade Operations teams. PTO is accountable for 50+trillion dollars of transactions each year and is a highly dynamic segment.
The role will be part of large-scale transformational projects ensuring project requirements are translated into operational processes. The role is also responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing process documentation, collaborating on UAT testing activities, and partnering with PTO leadership to influence external processes and behaviors. The role leads transformational change over multi-year time horizons through the implementation of next generation optimization technologies, Artificial intelligence, advanced reporting and analytics.
What will you do?
- Champion identification of process improvement initiatives, implement solutions and establish and maintain Digital Cheque Processing documentation pertaining to the PTO group
- Work with IT, Business and Vendor partners supporting & testing DCP release builds.
- Re-design processes to support transformational programs and other changes impacting operational processes.
- Lead development and implementation of new tools and automation technologies
- Responsible for proactively identifying Cheque Processing operational gaps and ensuring problem resolution is timely.
- Identify, prioritize, and execute operational process improvement opportunities.
- Lead planning and execution of new work intake.
- Satisfy multiple stakeholders in a very complex and demanding business and technology environment.
- Provide training as necessary to business, IT, and operational partners.
- Co-ordinate with RBC partners to influence external processes and behaviors that impact PTO operational efficiency.
- Plan, direct and coordinate activities of assigned projects to ensure project goals or objectives are accomplished within approved time frame, scope and budget.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Cheque Processing operations, financials, and related payment technologies.
- Proven success at driving deliverables to completion, exercising effective change management strategies and tactics.
- Ability to foster effective collaboration and interaction across multiple groups and disciplines.
- Demonstrate growth and strategic mindset with ability to influence decisions.
- Capable of handling complex issues, balancing strategic thinking and tactical skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Operational /process background with exposure to LSS (Lean Six Sigma) or process re-engineering preferred
- Interest in AI solutions applied to process optimization
- Change management minded
- Confidence in decision making and strategic planning
- Sense of urgency with ability to handle multiple demands
