We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role is critical in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring smooth operations and efficient order fulfillment. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at precise inventory management, including cycle counting, reconciling discrepancies, and assisting with physical inventories. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to identify root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of organization. Your contributions will directly impact our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. We value a safe working environment and expect all team members to adhere to strict safety protocols. You will be trained on proper material handling techniques and the use of necessary equipment. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus, and the ability to learn new software quickly is essential. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between the WMS and physical stock.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry and system updates.
- Identify damaged or defective stock and process returns or adjustments accordingly.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse stockroom for optimal efficiency.
- Ensure proper labeling and storage of all inventory items.
- Collaborate with the receiving and shipping departments to track inventory movements.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory control.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory control or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to Lifting guidelines.
