We are recruiting a detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our thriving logistics team in St. Louis, Missouri. As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for accurately preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring that all orders are correctly packed, labeled, and documented before they leave our facility. Your duties will include verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging materials, generating shipping labels, and coordinating with carriers. This role is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and ensuring the smooth flow of our supply chain. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a commitment to accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and must be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Adherence to all safety regulations, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is a top priority. We value precision and efficiency in our logistics operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Verify order details against items being shipped.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Print and affix shipping labels and any necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pick-up schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records in the inventory management system.
- Ensure the shipping area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with loading trucks when necessary, which may involve some lifting.
- Communicate with internal teams regarding shipment status.
- Support overall logistics efficiency through accurate and timely shipping.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computers.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order preparation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
