A growing company in Madison, Wisconsin, is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to manage the outflow of our products. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all orders are accurately picked, packed, labeled, and shipped according to established procedures and customer requirements. This position is integral to our logistics operations, contributing to customer satisfaction through timely and accurate order fulfillment. You will interact with various shipping carriers, maintain shipping documentation, and assist in resolving any shipping-related issues. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent communication skills. Safety is a top priority, and all employees are expected to follow all safety protocols, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This role may involve moderate Lifting and requires careful attention to detail to prevent shipping errors. Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outbound shipments.
- Verify order accuracy and ensure proper packaging.
- Generate shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Conduct quality checks on outgoing packages.
- Communicate shipping updates to internal teams and customers.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and guidelines.
- Properly use and maintain required PPE.
- Perform tasks that may include occasional Lifting of up to 40 pounds.
- Support the broader logistics and supply chain functions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and online portals.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to Safety and the use of PPE.
