Join our dynamic team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Indianapolis, Indiana! This role is essential for managing the inflow and outflow of goods within our facility. You will be responsible for accurately receiving shipments, preparing outgoing orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will be key to ensuring the efficiency of our logistics operations and upholding our commitment to safety.
Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and bills of lading.
- Inspect goods for damage and ensure accuracy of received items.
- Stock received inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling orders accurately.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving areas are clean, organized, and safe.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Coordinate with carriers and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and pickup.
- Handle tasks involving frequent Lifting, up to 50 lbs.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of logistics principles and inventory control best practices.
- Proficiency with warehouse management software and RF scanners.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including Lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Must be able to wear required PPE and adhere to safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
