Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is vital for the efficient movement and organization of goods within our warehouse facility. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products, ensuring inventory accuracy and workplace Safety . This position requires physical stamina and a strong work ethic, contributing directly to our logistics operations. A proactive approach to managing materials and maintaining order is key.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive and unload incoming materials and verify contents against purchase orders.
  • Move materials from receiving to storage areas, or to production areas.
  • Load materials onto trucks or other vehicles for shipment.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Organize and maintain inventory in designated locations, ensuring proper stock rotation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any necessary maintenance.
  • Follow all established Safety procedures and guidelines, including proper use of PPE .
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy checks.
  • Keep the work area clean, orderly, and free from hazards.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment.
  • Experience with RF scanners and inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Must be able to perform frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Understanding of warehouse procedures and logistics principles.
  • A strong commitment to workplace Safety and hazard awareness.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
