Keeper Security is hiring a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our Commander team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and tooling that ensure the quality, reliability, and security of Keeper Commanders CLI, SDKs, and automation workflows. This is a 100% remote position, with an opportunity for a hybrid schedule for candidates based in the El Dorado Hills, CA area. As a Senior SDET on the Commander team, you will own automation systems that validate complex DevOps workflows, cross-platform CLI behavior, and SDK integrations. This role focuses on automation architecture and system-level validation rather than manual test execution. You will work closely with engineering, quality engineering, security, and product teams to define test strategies, improve automation coverage, and influence long-term quality and test architecture decisions. Responsibilities
Architect, design, and maintain automation frameworks for Commander CLI and SDKs (Python, .NET, and related integrations) Develop end-to-end, integration, and system-level automated tests validating DevOps and automation workflows Integrate automated test execution into CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable feedback Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define testing requirements and automation strategies Validate cross-platform functionality across Linux, Windows, and macOS Validate authentication, encryption, and secure workflow behavior as part of automation coverage Build automation tooling that simulates real-world DevOps environments and enterprise integrations Analyze automation failures, identify root causes, and drive long-term reliability improvements Review automation code, improve documentation, and promote best practices across the team Mentor other automation engineers and contribute to automation architecture and roadmap planning
Requirements
5+ years of experience in test automation or software development with a strong automation focus Strong proficiency in Python and experience interacting with or automating .NET SDKs Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as PyTest, NUnit, or similar Strong understanding of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.) Experience testing command-line tools, SDKs, or developer-facing libraries Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS experience preferred; GovCloud a plus) Understanding of authentication models, encryption workflows, and secure system behavior Experience validating distributed or complex systems Strong debugging, analytical, and cross-team collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, or Kubernetes Contributions to automation frameworks or open-source testing projects Experience with secrets management, privileged access management, or cybersecurity platforms Cross-platform testing experience across Linux, Windows, and macOS Exposure to performance, load, or reliability testing
