Thompson *Family *Plumbing & Drain is expanding into Utah and is seeking a licensed Utah Master Plumber to partner with us as we establish a new location. This role includes a monthly compensation package for license use, along with long-term growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding, family-owned company.
This opportunity is ideal for a knowledgeable, dependable professional who wants to align with a strong brand while ensuring full compliance with Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing (DOPL) requirements.
Job Summary
We are seeking a licensed and experienced Utah Master Plumber to support the launch and ongoing operations of our Utah market. The qualifying plumber will be responsible for license oversight, code compliance, and professional guidance in accordance with the Utah State Plumbing Code (UPC as adopted by Utah).
The ideal candidate has a strong background in residential and commercial plumbing, construction and remodel work, and understands the responsibilities associated with serving as a qualifying agent.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the qualifying Master Plumber for Thompson Family Plumbing & Drain in Utah
* Ensure company operations comply with Utah DOPL licensing laws and regulations
* Oversee and ensure compliance with Utah State Plumbing Code (UPC) and local AHJ requirements
* Provide professional oversight and guidance for plumbing installations, repairs, and system maintenance
* Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for code compliance
* Support residential and light commercial plumbing projects, including remodels and new construction
* Utilize and oversee proper use of hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment
* Assist with troubleshooting plumbing system issues and job-site problem solving
* Ensure safety standards, job-site cleanliness, and professional workmanship are maintained
* Maintain accurate documentation as required for licensing and compliance purposes
Qualifications
* Active Utah Master Plumber License (Required)
* Eligible and willing to serve as a qualifying agent under Utah DOPL
* Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial plumbing construction or remodeling
* Strong working knowledge of Utah plumbing codes and regulations
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and schematics
* Familiarity with standard plumbing tools, materials, and installation methods
* Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and compliance standards
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with management
* Valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience
* Experience serving as a qualifying plumber or license holder for a plumbing company
* Commercial or multi-unit residential plumbing experience
* Leadership or mentorship experience within plumbing teams

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
