PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
As the Applications Development Manager, you will be responsible for strategic planning in product and service development, overseeing software development activities, and coordinating with corporate management and business sponsors. You will provide administrative guidance to ensure productivity and monitor third-party technology vendors, products, and services. ARE YOU A PERFECT FIT?

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE: Directing assessment, development, and deployment of software application development and support services. Coordinating software development and support efforts with IT management and stakeholders, including clients. Collaborating on strategic planning to facilitate efficient technology selection and deployment for both the company and clients. Providing technology vision and leadership for software development and vendor management initiatives aimed at improving cost-effectiveness and service quality. Managing budgeting, staffing, and colleague development within defined areas of responsibility. Researching and developing new technologies and evaluating industry trends to support business development. Ensuring the confidentiality of corporate and client data. Reporting activities to IT management related to software development and vendor engagement. Setting priorities, establishing goals, and ensuring deadlines are met. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Administering company personnel policies and following staffing standards and training recommendations. Conducting interviews, hiring, and establishing performance development plans for colleagues. Providing leadership and motivation to maximize performance. QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably with a major in Information Systems or Management. An advanced degree is strongly preferred. Ten (10) years of related experience is required, including a minimum of eight (8) years in systems software development or infrastructure, six (6) years in supervisory or project management roles, and experience in claims management. Experience with the Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation is strongly preferred. Skills & Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office products. Strong leadership and motivational skills. Exceptional analytical and interpretive skills. Outstanding organizational abilities. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills. Strong negotiation skills. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Comfortable working in a matrixed supervision structure.
