We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a recent university graduate who is eager to learn, grow, and develop within a modern steel contracting environment. Working closely with senior estimators and project managers, you'll gain hands-on experience in take-offs, pricing, budgeting, and preparing bid proposals for both structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review structural and architectural drawings to support accurate understanding of project scope.
- Assist with material take-offs and quantity breakdowns for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.
- Help prepare cost estimates, budgets, and bid proposals under the guidance of senior estimators.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing, availability, and lead times.
- Maintain organized estimate files, pricing databases, and historical cost records.
- Assist in drafting scope letters, clarifications, and complete bid submissions.
- Participate in handoff meetings and collaborate with the project team to ensure a smooth transition from estimate to execution.
- Actively learn and develop expertise in steel fabrication, erection methods, and industry standards.
Required Skills:
- Strong interest in the structural steel industry and construction sector.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings (full training provided).
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven, fast-paced work setting.

- Responsible for own transportation to and from work.

Pay: $42,457.13-$60,000.00 per year
