We are seeking a diligent and physically adept Material Handler to join our team in Sacramento, California. This role is essential for managing the movement of goods within our facility, ensuring that materials are handled efficiently and safely throughout our logistics process. You will be responsible for tasks such as loading and unloading trucks, organizing inventory, and transporting materials to different workstations or storage areas. The ideal candidate possesses strong physical stamina, a commitment to safety , and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Experience with warehouse equipment is a plus. We are dedicated to maintaining a secure and productive work environment, requiring strict adherence to all safety regulations and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE ).
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from delivery vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks.
- Stage materials for shipping, production, or assembly.
- Maintain accurate records of material movement and inventory locations.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Perform routine checks on material handling equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper material handling techniques.
- Wear required PPE at all times, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stock verification.
- Handle products and materials, often requiring significant manual labor and lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to optimize workflow and efficiency in our logistics operations.
- Follow all shipping and receiving documentation protocols.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting , bending, and standing for long periods.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety best practices and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE .
