We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Material Handler for our Madison, Wisconsin facility. In this role, you will be responsible for the movement of materials throughout the warehouse, ensuring that products are safely and efficiently transferred between different areas. Your primary focus will be on loading and unloading trucks, staging materials for production or shipping, and maintaining an organized flow of goods. This position is crucial for the smooth operation of our logistics chain. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, possesses good physical stamina, and works well in a team-oriented environment. Experience with material handling equipment is a plus, but we provide training for motivated individuals. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and expect all employees to adhere to our strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks using appropriate equipment.
- Stage materials for upcoming orders or production runs.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect equipment for proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock organization as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Wear required PPE , including safety shoes, glasses, and gloves.
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds consistently.
- Collaborate with other warehouse personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
- Understand and follow shipping and receiving documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar physical labor role.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including frequent lifting , bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience operating various types of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to wear and use required PPE .
- Familiarity with logistics operations is beneficial.
