Opportunity for a skilled Forklift Operator in Portland, Oregon! This role is essential for the efficient movement of goods within our distribution center, playing a key part in our overall logistics strategy. You will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials. Precision, adherence to safety protocols, and experience are critical. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse operations, and the ability to perform tasks that may involve moderate lifting . You will ensure that all operations are conducted safely, minimizing risks to yourself and others, and always utilize the required PPE . Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move inventory.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Stack and retrieve materials from warehouse racking systems.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily and report any maintenance issues.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including proper use of PPE .
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movement.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, which may include some manual labor and lifting .
- Ensure all goods are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Participate in regular inventory counts.
- Contribute to overall warehouse organization and efficiency, supporting our logistics goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA compliant).
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE .
- Ability to perform moderate lifting and physical tasks as required.
- Understanding of basic logistics and inventory management.
- Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
