We are seeking an experienced and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead our operations in Washington, D.C. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of warehouse management, including staff supervision, workflow optimization, inventory control, and ensuring operational efficiency and safety. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for training and managing a team of warehouse associates, implementing best practices in logistics, and maintaining high standards of productivity. Your commitment to safety is paramount; you will ensure that all team members adhere to strict safety protocols and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse supervision, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of warehouse logistics. You must be capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including significant lifting (up to 50 lbs), and possess experience with warehouse management systems and equipment. Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct daily warehouse activities and staff.
- Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures.
- Manage inventory accuracy and cycle counts.
- Optimize workflow for receiving, storing, and shipping operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and lead by example in PPE usage.
- Train, coach, and evaluate warehouse personnel.
- Monitor and improve operational efficiency and productivity.
- Coordinate with transportation and other departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
- Assist with heavy lifting and material handling as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse supervision.
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and warehouse operations.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform significant lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Proficient in safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
