Our logistics hub in Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk. This vital role ensures that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying package contents, coordinating with carriers, and ensuring packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. Your work is critical to maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring timely delivery to our customers. We are dedicated to providing a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipping documentation, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Verify the accuracy of packaged items against shipping orders.
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper labeling and packaging integrity.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs.
- Operate shipping software and systems efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, carriers, and customers regarding shipments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with material handling and lifting as needed, following safe practices.
- Ensure all logistics operations related to shipping are conducted smoothly and on time.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of shipping regulations and best practices.
