We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Coordinator to oversee and manage operations at our Washington, D.C. facility. This key role ensures the efficient and accurate flow of goods within our logistics network. Responsibilities include supervising warehouse staff, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, managing inventory levels, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will implement and enforce all company policies, particularly those related to safety, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and proper lifting techniques. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics best practices. You will play a vital role in optimizing warehouse productivity and ensuring the timely fulfillment of orders. This position requires a proactive approach to managing resources and staff to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct warehouse staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Manage inventory accuracy through regular audits and cycle counts.
- Implement and maintain efficient warehouse layout and organization.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Train staff on safe material handling, lifting procedures, and equipment operation.
- Oversee the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of products.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and operational activities.
- Identify areas for process improvement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Coordinator or similar supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with warehouse management software (WMS) and other relevant technologies.
- Ability to develop and implement effective operational strategies.
- Familiarity with safety standards, including PPE requirements and safe lifting practices.
- Physical ability to inspect warehouse operations and occasionally assist with manual tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
