We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our Madison, Wisconsin warehouse team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, implementing inventory control procedures, and conducting regular audits. Your efforts are vital to the efficiency of our logistics operations and will directly impact order fulfillment accuracy and cost management. You will analyze inventory levels, identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and recommend improvements to inventory processes. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), and a meticulous approach to detail. A commitment to safety and adherence to all company policies, including the proper use of PPE, is essential. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, optimize stock levels, and minimize shrinkage.
- Manage and maintain the inventory management system (WMS).
- Generate regular inventory reports for management review.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of inventory to maintain quality and prevent damage.
- Train and guide warehouse staff on inventory procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless logistics flow.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure the proper use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar inventory management role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of logistics principles and warehouse operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
