Join our vibrant logistics team as a Shipping & Receiving Associate in Washington, D.C. This pivotal role ensures the smooth flow of goods into and out of our facility. You will be instrumental in managing inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring that all operations meet our high standards for efficiency and safety. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of handling the physical demands of the job, including significant Lifting. You will be responsible for inspecting incoming goods, verifying order accuracy, and preparing outgoing shipments for delivery. Proficiency in using scanning equipment and basic computer skills for inventory tracking are essential. We emphasize a safe working environment, and adherence to all safety guidelines, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is expected. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to grow within the logistics industry and be part of a dedicated team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Unload trucks and transport materials to designated storage areas.
- Process outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in order fulfillment and proper packaging.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently (certification may be required).
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and system updates.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Prepare shipping documents, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
- Ensure the dock area is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.
