Our Charlotte, North Carolina distribution center is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials within the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining workflow and ensuring the timely handling of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move pallets, cases, and other materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled properly and secured.
- Transport inventory to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform routine inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, and order picking as needed, supporting overall warehouse operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety standards.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Accurately track the movement of materials and update inventory records.
- Adhere to safe lifting practices and assist with manual material handling when necessary.
- Contribute to the efficient flow of goods within the logistics network.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up).
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for forklift operation.
- Commitment to wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adapt to changing priorities.
