About Our Team: The Growth Platform team empowers our marketers, lifecycle teams, and partner channels by delivering advanced MarTech solutions to enhance efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and scalable user acquisition across our brands: Scribd, Everand, SlideShare, and Fable. Our focus is on building systems that enable campaign execution, landing page optimization, tracking and attribution, and third-party integrations for effective cross-channel marketing and analytics. About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join our Growth Platform team. In this vital role, you will design, build, and scale systems that enhance marketing technology, campaign automation, and user acquisition strategies. You will closely collaborate with marketers, data analysts, and lifecycle teams to deliver high-quality solutions aimed at improving cross-channel marketing effectiveness and customer engagement. As a senior engineer, you will significantly influence Scribd's growth strategy by ensuring our systems are robust, extensible, and data-driven. You will also play an important role in shaping the team's technical direction and mentoring fellow engineers. What We're Looking For: A passionate engineer committed to writing reliable, maintainable, and scalable code. Someone who thrives at both backend system design and frontend feature development. A collaborator eager to engage with marketers, data scientists, product managers, and engineers to create impactful, self-service tools. An engineer with experience in integrations and data flows between internal and external systems. A practical problem-solver who balances technical standards with business objectives. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in
Ruby on Rails
and its ecosystem. Solid experience with modern
TypeScript & JavaScript Frameworks
(Next.js strongly preferred). Strong understanding of
database systems
(SQL and NoSQL) and architectural tradeoffs. Experience in designing and consuming APIs ( REST , GraphQL a plus). Knowledge of experimentation, A/B testing, personalization systems, and the MarTech landscape. Ability to communicate clearly and frequently with cross-functional teams, influencing through technical expertise and collaborative decision-making. A dedication to craftsmanship, autonomy, and empathy in writing thoughtful and maintainable code that enables others to succeed. Technical Skills: Primary:
Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, JavaScript, ReactJS (NextJS a plus) Databases:
SQL, NoSQL Testing:
RSpec, React Testing Library, Minitest, Jest, Cypress (or similar) Version Control:
Git or equivalent workflows API Development:
RESTful APIs, GraphQL (nice to have) Nice to Have: Experience in a Growth Engineering or Growth Platform team at a product-focused company. Experience leading or contributing to CMS build-outs or internal platforms for campaign launches or messaging tools. Familiarity with automated data ingestion, referral systems, or promotional tools. You should be comfortable managing projects that align marketing speed with long-term technical goals.
