We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our Atlanta, Georgia facility. This key role is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory through systematic tracking, auditing, and analysis. You will work closely with the warehouse operations team to ensure that all inventory data is up-to-date, discrepancies are identified and resolved, and that stock rotation procedures are followed. Responsibilities include conducting cycle counts, performing physical inventory audits, investigating inventory variances, managing stock levels, and implementing process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy. Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of inventory management principles are essential. The ideal candidate will be proficient with inventory management software and possess excellent organizational skills. A commitment to safety is crucial; you will be expected to adhere to all warehouse safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices when handling inventory. This position plays a vital role in the efficiency and profitability of our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status.
- Implement and ensure adherence to stock rotation (e.g., FIFO/LIFO) procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations staff to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper PPE usage.
- Assist in the management of returned goods and damaged inventory.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
- Familiarity with safety procedures, including PPE and lifting techniques.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring physical movement, including occasional lifting.
