Your expertise will ensure flawless execution and implementation of innovative engineering solutions in a strictly regulated environment. This role is at a Senior Manager level and has operative leadership within the midsize and large CAPEX projects Small Molecules area in the range of 50 – 200 MCHF. Key Responsibilities: Ensure the compliance with all pertinent safety policies, rules, and regulations. Share and enforce the applicable standards and practices with the project team and Work Package Owners. Complete the CAPEX project within the allocated budget and scope, ensuring timely delivery of all project requirements. Review and approve technical documentation (e.g., P&IDs). Coordinate internal and external workshops and assist team members in developing agendas, meeting minutes, and action lists. Contribute to ensuring the adequate project control systems needed to manage risk, cost, and schedule are timely in place. Regularly review engineering and project controls with the team to ensure project progress and address any issues. Participate in FATs/SATs as an observing auditor. Contribute to the implementation of overall project resources (internal and external). Ensure the implementation of brand new technical solutions while adhering to internal and external quality, safety, and ecology standards. Encourage the exchange and demonstration of standard methodologies and expertise within Lonza's engineering community. Ensure the successful hand-over of the project to the user-team, including the appropriate level of training and accurate documentation. Key requirements: Bachelor or Higher Degree in Engineering in Chemical Processes, Mechanical, Plant Engineering, or similar. Proven experience in project engineering or project management for chemical or pharmaceutical industries with international experience. Project engineering skills, including contract management in collaboration with a professional procurement organization. Understanding of project controlling and project appraisal knowledge. Wide interdisciplinary knowledge. Extended EHS knowledge. Capable of motivating a team, getting results, strong communication skills, and experience in managing matrix-based cross-functional teams. Solid internal and external collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams in the successful delivery of projects. Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors from a broad spectrum of fields.
