Our busy logistics facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for experienced and certified Forklift Operators to join our dynamic team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and staging products for shipment. Your expertise in operating various types of forklifts is essential for maintaining smooth warehouse operations and ensuring the timely flow of inventory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe operation, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We are deeply committed to workplace safety; therefore, strict adherence to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. You will be expected to perform pre-operational checks on equipment and follow all guidelines for safe lifting and material handling. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Transport inventory to and from storage locations.
- Stage products for outbound shipments.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as required.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift certification and proven experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety consciousness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to following all safety rules and wearing required PPE.
- Good communication skills.
