We are looking for a dedicated Material Handler to join our state-of-the-art warehouse facility in Atlanta, Georgia. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the movement, storage, and organization of materials within the warehouse. Your efforts are essential to maintaining efficient logistics flow and ensuring the smooth operation of our distribution center.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and process incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
- Sort, organize, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas, and from storage to shipping docks.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Ensure all material handling activities comply with company Safety standards and regulations.
- Properly use all required PPE, including hard hats and safety vests.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks as needed.
- Participate in cycle counts and full physical inventories.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Certification to operate forklifts or other relevant machinery is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other common warehouse equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 70 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a high standard of Safety.
- Familiarity with PPE and its importance in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
