Job Summary:
Join our growing team as an Inventory Control Specialist in Richmond, Virginia. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is fundamental to our logistics success. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will play a vital role in optimizing warehouse operations, ensuring that our stock levels are precise and readily available for order fulfillment. Your dedication to maintaining order and accuracy will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Manage and maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
  • Monitor stock levels and report any stock outs or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure accurate receiving and put-away processes.
  • Train new staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with company policies regarding inventory.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with WMS and inventory management software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including moderate Lifting and moving of inventory.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
  • Knowledge of Safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
