We are currently looking for an Intern, Desktop Support for our Owensboro, KY office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Desktop Support Intern provides technical assistance and support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role is designed to offer hands-on experience in IT support operations, helping maintain the organization's computer systems and ensuring smooth day-to-day technology use. The intern will work under the guidance of experienced IT professionals to learn troubleshooting techniques, customer service skills, and gain exposure to enterprise-level IT environments.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Technical Experience
At least 1+ years in a hands-on IT workstation or customer support role
At least 1 year of experience in hardware lifecycle management and software deployment
Experience working with PC desktops and laptops
Familiarity with PC image deployment tools and processes
Experience scripting and automating software deployment processes across workstation assets
Troubleshooting & Analysis
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Strong multi-tasking and problem-solving abilities
Computer technology troubleshooting capabilities
Tools & Software Knowledge
Basic knowledge of service desk software, remote control tools, and database connectivity
Experience with incident tracking software
Customer Service & Communication
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
Professionalism & Confidentiality
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Team Collaboration & Learning
Willingness to work under supervision and take direction
Ability to collaborate with IT team members and other departments
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience supporting the latest versions of Windows Client OS and Microsoft 365
Experience with Freshservice incident management platforms
Experience providing mobile device support for iPhones, iPads
Experience with PC image deployment tools and processes Knowledge of Microsoft Endpoint Management (Intune)
Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and Group Policy deployments
Knowledge of SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell)
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Some college

Seeking degree in Information Technology/Computer Science
